Award-winning actor, director, and producer Hector Elizondo received an Obie Award for his acclaimed role as ‘God’ in the 1971 production of ‘Steambath,’ following his stage debut in ‘Kill the One-Eyed Man’ in 1965. His prolific theatre career also garnered a Drama Desk nomination for his performance alongside George C. Scott in Arthur Penns production of ‘Sly Fox.’ Elizondo’s extensive stage credits include ‘The Great White Hope’ (1968), ‘The Prisoner of Second Avenue,’ ‘Dance of Death’ with Robert Shaw, and ‘The Rose Tattoo’ opposite Cicely Tyson. He expanded his theatrical contributions by making his debut as a stage director with ‘Villa!’, starring Julio Medina.
Further showcasing his versatility, he lent his voice to animated projects including ‘Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman’ (2003) as Bane and ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ (2017) as Jim Gordon. Most recently, Elizondo reprised his role as Dr. Neven Bell in the 2023 release of ‘Mr.
Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie,’ a continuation of the beloved series. He continues to contribute his distinctive voice to animated productions, voicing Dooka in ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ (2022) and Romar Adell in ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ (2023), further cementing his enduring presence across diverse entertainment mediums.
