The incredibly popular and talented Heo Sung-tae is a Korean actor with over 60 film and TV credits to his name. He is best known for the 2016 thriller, The Age of Shadows, and for the hit Netflix series, Squid Game, in which he plays the villainous Jang Deok-su.
Born and raised in Busan, South Korea, Heo Sung-tae initially pursued a career in business after he obtained a degree in Russian from Pusan National University. He actually began his acting career in 2011 after he entered a SBS talent show, Miraculous Audition. His natural talent in-front of the camera was there for all to see and the following year he made his acting debut in the 2012 film, Masquerade. But it was when he was cast in the period thriller, The Age of Shadows, in 2016 that he came into national prominence. Since then he has gone on to star in such films as The Fortress, The Outlaws, and Hitman: Agent Jun. He made his TV acting debut in 2015 when he had a small part in the series City of the Sun. His many TV credits include Tunnel, Watcher, Different Dreams, and Beyond Evil.
