Herman Li

Herman Li is a British Chinese musician who is best known for his pivotal role as one of two lead guitarists for the power metal band DragonForce. Li founded the band, and is also the lead songwriter, who are successful due to their unique combination of fantasy themed lyrics and video-game influenced sound. Together the band has released eight studio albums, with their third album Inhuman Rampage was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, with it’s lead single Through The Fire and The Flames featuring in several video games including Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. DragonForce has also been nominated for a Grammy, competing with the legendary Metallica, with the track Heroes of Our Time.

Li came to create the band from heavy metal band Demoniac, and has brought a sense of energy and rigour which reflects in their work, with most of their signature sound from the high-speed dual guitar from Li and Sam Totman. Li is an active member of social media, interacting with fans on popular platform Twitch and creating fun content for his Instagram platform which has over 172 thousand followers, and is strongly interested in gaming besides his music work. Herman has also performed with guitar legends Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Tony MacAlpine, and Paul Gilbert, among others and has also created his own signature guitar series. The musician also coaches guitar, and is currently working on a new innovative guitar unlike any other currently available on the market.
