Humayun Saeed was born on July 27, 1971, in Karachi, Pakistan. He is the eldest of five brothers. Prior to his career in entertainment, he earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from St. Patrick’s College, Karachi, and worked as a general manager at a garment factory. His entry into Pakistani television began in 1995, initially as an artist in various television plays and drama serials, with “Yeh Jahan” being his first notable role. Saeed later ventured into production, establishing H.S. Production. Through this company, he produced several serials, including “Tum he to ho,” “Pehli Khahish,” “Adhuray Khawab,” “Dil wo bay mehar,” and “Undekhi.”
Saeed’s acting career expanded into film in 1999 with Samina Peerzada’s movie “Inteha,” where his performance in a negative role earned him a National Award for Best Actor. Despite a period of decline in the Pakistani film industry, he remained active, and with the revival of cinema in 2013, he took on significant roles in films such as “Main Hoon Shahid Afridi,” “Bin Roye,” and “Jawani Phir Nahi Ani.” In 2018, he appeared in “Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2,” and in 2022, he starred in “London Nahi Jaunga.” His international recognition grew in 2022 when he was cast as Dr. Hasnat Khan in the fifth season of the Netflix series “The Crown.”
Beyond acting and producing, Humayun Saeed co-founded Six Sigma Plus, a media production house that continues to create television drama serials and commercial movies. His contributions to the Pakistani entertainment industry have been recognized with numerous accolades, including multiple Lux Style Awards and ARY Film Awards. In 2016, he received a Special Recognition Award at the 4th Hum Awards for his role in the revival of Pakistani cinema. He was also honored with the Pride of Performance by the President of Pakistan on March 23, 2021, a testament to his sustained impact on the industry.
