Hailing from Cadyville, N.Y., Hunter Church has emerged as a prominent and charismatic figure in the world of bobsledding, proudly representing the third generation of his family in the sport. His journey has been marked by breakthrough performances on the World Cup Tour, solidifying his status as one of the best in the game.
Church’s most notable accomplishment came during the lead-up to the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, where he played a pivotal role in qualifying three four-man bobsledding teams for Team USA. Piloting his sled to victory in the North American Cup, Church secured crucial points, ensuring the U.S. remained in the top 3 as a nation.
Having experienced bobsledding from a young age, Church first rode a bobsled at the age of 7 on Mount Van Hoevenberg. Fast forward sixteen years, and he found himself on the verge of winning his first IBSF World Cup Medal on the same track. Notably, at the 2018 U23 World Championships, Church finished sixth in the two-man competition.
Church’s consistency on the podium in the North American Cup is evident, boasting over 20 top 3 finishes. His impact continued at the 2019 World Championships, where he played a crucial role in the U.S. team’s fourth-place finish in the mixed relay event.
