Ian Harte

Ian Harte established himself as a decorated professional footballer after joining Leeds United in 1995. Over nine seasons with the club, Harte made an impressive 288 official appearances as a left-back between 1996 and 2004. He was an integral part of the team that reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup in the 1999–2000 season and the UEFA Champions League in the 2000–01 season. Harte’s powerful left foot and free-kick prowess earned him significant recognition, including a spot in the PFA Team of the Year for the 1999–2000 Premier League season.

While at Carlisle, he was named to the PFA Team of the Year for the 2009–10 League One season and was a Football League Trophy runner-up that same year. Harte then joined Reading in 2010, where his contributions were instrumental in the club’s success, earning him consecutive PFA Team of the Year selections for the 2010–11 and 2011–12 Championship seasons. He played a crucial role in Reading’s Football League Championship title win in the 2011–12 season. His career continued its upward trajectory with AFC Bournemouth, whom he joined in 2013, helping them secure the Football League Championship title in the 2014–15 season and promotion to the Premier League.
