Inaki Godoy

Iñaki Godoy Jasso was born on August 25, 2003, in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. He commenced his acting career at a young age, securing his first significant role at thirteen in 2016 in the American Spanish-language series “La querida del Centauro,” where he portrayed Amadeo ‘El Gato.’ This early success established his presence in the industry, followed by minor roles in series like “Blue Demon” (2016), “Por la Máscara: La Serie Web” (2018), “Sin miedo a la verdad” (2019), and “Los elegidos” (2019).

His career advanced significantly with his film debut and first leading role in “¡Ánimo Juventud!” (Go Youth!) in 2020, a film that earned a nomination for best film at the 18th Morelia International Film Festival. The same year, he also appeared in “MexZombies,” which screened at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival, and “No abras la puerta.” On television, Godoy gained further recognition for his recurring role as Bruno Lazcano in the first two seasons of Netflix’s “Who Killed Sara?” (2021) and a main role as Juan Ruiz in the English-speaking production “The Imperfects” (2022).

The turning point in Godoy’s career came in 2021 when he was cast as Monkey D. Luffy in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of “One Piece.” The series premiered in 2023, propelling him to international prominence. His portrayal of the iconic character has been well-received, contributing to the show’s global success and securing a second season (scheduled for 2026) and a third season, with filming planned in Cape Town, South Africa. Godoy’s work in “One Piece” has cemented his status as a notable young actor, bridging cultural and fan communities worldwide.
