Mía Maestro is a versatile Argentine actress and singer known for her impactful roles in film and television, including “Alias” and “The Strain,” and her career as a recording artist. After making her critically acclaimed film debut in 1998’s Tango, which garnered Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for Best Foreign Film, Mía Maestro went on to establish a versatile career across film, television, and music. Her early filmography included roles in The Venice Project (1999), Timecode (2000), Picking Up the Pieces (2000), and El astillero (2000). Maestro made her television debut in 2000 in For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story, before taking on significant roles as Cristina Kahlo in the 2002 film Frida and Chichina Ferreyra in the critically acclaimed The Motorcycle Diaries in 2004.

Concurrently, she pursued a career as a singer-songwriter, releasing her EP Blue Eyed Sailor in 2012, which featured the track ‘Time to Go’ with Damien Rice. Her song ‘Lloverá’ was also included on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 soundtrack. Her debut album, Si Agua, was released in 2014 by Arts & Crafts and Nacional Records. Maestro has performed internationally, opening for Emiliana Torrini in Reykjavík, Iceland, in 2010 and collaborating with the British band Faithless on their 2010 album The Dance.

More recently, Maestro recurred on FX’s Mayans M.C. from 2019 to 2021 and starred in the critically acclaimed independent drama End of the Century (2019). She followed this with a starring role in The Cow Who Sang a Song Into the Future (2022) and Grassland (2024). Maestro is set to take on a lead role in the upcoming biopic Alina of Cuba, which is currently in post-production.
