Professional US female freestyle wrestler, Jacarra Winchester is a gold-medal-winner and world wrestling champion in the 55kg category.
Having originally taken up wrestling during high school, during which time she was named the California state high school champion during 2010, Winchester went on to enjoy a successful college wrestling career, representing Missouri Valley College. In 2014 she was the champion at the University Nationals, before going on to win bronze in the 58kg that same year in the University Worlds competition. Following her impressive wins, in 2015, Winchester became the WCWA Nationals champion for Missouri Valley. On leaving college, Winchester continued on her wrestling career, winning silver at both the 2015 and 2017 US Open, before going on to win gold in the same event for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019. Both these years proved to be highly successful for Winchester when she won the 2018 Ukrainian Memorial competition, the 2018 World Team Trials Challenge Tournament, the 2019 Dave Schultz Memorial International and both the 2018 and 2019 Final X Championship. It was also during 2019 that Winchester went on to achieve her first World Championships after taking home the gold medal in the 55kg category, contributing to the record three gold-medal wins for the US at the competition.
Competing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Winchester is representing the US in the 53kg category, following her successful gold medal win at the Pan American Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament.
