Jay Chandrasekhar

Jay Chandrasekhar is an American comedian, film director, screenwriter, actor, and editor known for his work with the sketch comedy group Broken Lizard, and his versatile contributions to both film and television. After his self-funded film, Puddle Cruiser, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 1997, Jay Chandrasekhar went on to establish himself as a prolific director, screenwriter, actor, and editor, primarily known for his extensive work with the sketch comedy group Broken Lizard. Chandrasekhar solidified his reputation within the comedy genre by directing and co-starring in the independent film Super Troopers (2001). He continued this success with Broken Lizard, directing and contributing as an actor and writer to subsequent features including Club Dread (2004) and Beerfest (2006).

In film, Chandrasekhar directed the feature Easter Sunday in 2022, further showcasing his adeptness at leading comedic projects. Most recently, Chandrasekhar co-wrote, executive produced, and co-starred in the feature film Quasi (2023), highlighting his multifaceted contributions behind and in front of the camera. He has also directed episodes for the current television series Animal Control (2023–2025). Alongside his extensive film and television career, Chandrasekhar maintains an active presence as a performer, appearing in various acting roles and frequently touring the country performing stand-up comedy with fellow Broken Lizard members, underscoring his versatility as a creative professional.
