Jay Mohr is an Emmy Award-nominated actor, comedian, and radio host. Named one of the greatest comics of all-time by Comedy Central, his breakthrough came as a member of Saturday Night Live. He had notable roles in Jerry Maguire, Picture Perfect, Ghost Whisperer, and Gary Unmarried.
Born in 1970 in New Jersey, Mohr appeared as a featured player on Saturday Night Live from 1993-1995. His first major film role came shortly after, as he starred as Bob Sugar in Jerry McGuire opposite Tom Cruise before starring alongside Jennifer Aniston in Picture Perfect. A versatile comedian turned actor, he also appeared in numerous television series throughout the 90s and 2000s including The Jeff Foxworthy Show, Local Heroes, Scrubs, The West Wing, and Action. One of his most memorable roles came as the lead character in the CBS comedy series Gary Unmarried, and he is also well known for his recurring roles in Ghost Whisperer and Suburgatory. Mohr has also found success as a sports talk show host, previously hosting daily shows on ESPN and Fox Sports Radio. He is also the author of two books: Gasping for Airtime and No Wonder Why My Parents Drank. Mohr has hosted his own podcast and continues to be a successful stand-up comic, something he has done consistently since he was just sixteen years old.
