Jephete Pierre came to TV screens on season 6 of Married at First Sight, the American reality show in which couples are matched and then married based on the advice of relationship experts. The couples agree to get married for at least eight weeks immediately after meeting, living out a very literal honeymoon period before choosing either to stay married or get a divorce. When Pierre was paired with contestant Shawniece Jackson, the pair got off to a rocky start, peppering the show with on-air arguments, but eventually decided to remain as husband and wife.
The couple have since appeared on several spin-off shows and specials, including On Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After, where viewers can check in on newlyweds who are expecting children. In October of 2018, Pierre and Jackson welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Laura Denise Pierre. May 2020 saw the premiere of Married at First Sight: Couples Cam, which features self-shot videos of nine of the fan-favorite couples from the original series, focusing on life in the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown period. There the couple shared that Pierre and daughter Laura would be leaving the family home to spend time with relations in New York, in order for Pierre and Jackson to some space from each other and relieve tensions that were running high during quarantine. While they have something of an on-again-off-again relationship, the pair are committed to their marriage and dedicated to co-parenting their daughter.
