Jeremy Irons, an Academy Award-winning actor, received both a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1990 for his powerful portrayal of Claus von Bulow in ‘Reversal of Fortune.’ Irons honed his craft at the Bristol Old Vic School before joining its repertory company, gaining experience in diverse stage productions. His early career included a notable debut as ‘John the Baptist’ in the musical ‘Godspell’ in 1971, followed by his on-screen debut in ‘Nijinsky’ in 1980. He gained international recognition in 1981 with his starring role in the Granada Television adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s ‘Brideshead Revisited,’ establishing him as a prominent leading man. In 1984, he made his Broadway debut opposite Glenn Close in Tom Stoppard’s ‘The Real Thing,’ which earned him a Tony Award.
