Jessica Mauboy

Jessica Mauboy gained national recognition as the runner-up on the fourth season of Australian Idol in 2006, which swiftly led to a recording contract with Sony Music Australia. Her debut live album, The Journey, released in 2007, achieved significant success by reaching number four on the ARIA Albums Chart. Following a brief period with the girl group Young Divas in 2007, Mauboy launched her highly anticipated debut studio album, Been Waiting, in 2008. This album spawned the number-one single ‘Burn’ and became the second highest-selling Australian album of 2009, cementing her status as a prominent musical force.

The series yielded two soundtrack albums, one of which made her the first Indigenous artist to achieve a number-one album on the ARIA Albums Chart that year. Her international profile rose significantly when she represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018. She continued to release new music with her fourth studio album, Hilda, in 2019, showcasing her evolving artistry. From 2021 to 2023, Mauboy served as a coach on The Voice Australia, sharing her expertise with emerging talent.

Mauboy’s career has continued its impressive trajectory into the present, with the release of her fifth studio album, Yours Forever, in 2024. In a significant career move, 2025 saw her launch her independent label, Jamally, marking a new chapter in her artistic and business endeavors.
