Jessy Mendiola

Jessy Mendiola was born Jessica Mendiola Tawile on December 3, 1992, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With a Filipino mother, Judith Mendiola, and a Lebanese father, Roger Tawile, Jessy Mendiola began her career in television commercials before venturing into acting at age 13. In 2007, she was officially launched as part of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Batch 15. Her early career included supporting roles in various television series, such as ‘Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos?’ (2007), ‘Dyosa’ (2008), and ‘Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo’ (2010).

Mendiola’s career progressed with leading roles in significant television shows like ‘Sabel’ (2010), ‘Budoy’ (2011), ‘Paraiso’ (2012), and most notably the Philippine remake of ‘Maria Mercedes’ (2013). Her film work includes ‘The Reunion’ (2012), ‘Call Center Girl’ (2013), ‘The Trial’ (2014), and ‘The Girl In The Orange Dress’ (2018). She also appeared in the long-running series ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ from 2008 to 2017 in various roles and in ‘Wansapanataym’ from 2010 to 2016. In 2024, after a five-year absence from acting, she signed a new contract with ABS-CBN and Star Magic, signaling her return to showbiz with upcoming projects like ‘Sins of the Father’ (2025).

Her achievements include the ‘German Moreno Youth Achievement Award’ at the 2012 FAMAS Awards and being the first Filipino recipient of the ‘Best Asia Pacific Star’ at the 5th Asia Pacific Actors Network (APAN) Star Awards in South Korea. Jessy Mendiola was also featured in TC Candler’s ‘Most Beautiful Faces in the World’ list for three consecutive years (2017–19) and was named ‘Sexiest Woman of 2016’ by FHM Philippines. She married television host Luis Manzano in 2021, and they have one child.
