Joe Taslim

Joe Taslim is an Indonesian actor and martial artist known for his roles in international action films and television series, leveraging his background as a national Judo athlete. After gaining significant momentum with his breakthrough role as Sergeant Jaka in the critically acclaimed 2011 action film The Raid: Redemption, Joe Taslim seamlessly transitioned from a decorated career as a national Judo athlete to a globally recognized actor. Taslim’s athletic foundation was built as a member of Indonesia’s national Judo team from 1997 to 2009, during which he earned numerous accolades, including a gold medal at the 1999 Southeast Asia Judo Championships in Singapore, bronze medals at the 2001 and 2005 Southeast Asian Games, a silver medal at the 2007 Southeast Asian Games, and a gold medal in the Men –81 kg class at the 2008 Indonesia National Games. His acting career commenced with his debut in the 2008 film Karma before his pivotal role in The Raid launched him onto the international stage.
