Comedy actor Joe Thomas is a well-loved household name. Perhaps best known for playing Simon Cooper in the award-winning series The Inbetweeners, Thomas has gone on to star in various film and television projects ever since. A natural comedian, the Chelmsford, Essex native was part of the Cambridge Footlights student troupe in his university days alongside future co-star Simon Bird and Jonny Sweet. Together, they would form the comedy-sketch team, House of Windsor – the collective minds behind the Sky One satire series Chickens. Now one of the most sought after comedians around, Thomas has a long and exciting career ahead of him.
Stepping away from his Inbetweeners roots, Thomas’ starring role in the acclaimed comedy film The Festival was a turning point in his career. The film earned Thomas the Best Breakthrough Performance in a Film nomination from the National Film Awards. Alongside a plethora of comedy roles such as Fresh Meat, Threesome and White Gold, Thomas’ reputation for his versatile comedic style has earned him rave reviews throughout his career. He has played Alexander Graham Bell in Drunk History: UK, Danny in Scottish Mussel and featured in the Comic Relief special, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again short.
Beyond the screen, Thomas created the comedy radio series Proposal as part of BBC Rdio 2’s spring Funny Fortnight. He has also gone head to head with Greg Davies and Alex Horne in Channel 4’s Taskmaster. As a standup comedian, Thomas’s streaming show, Trying Not To Panic, has become an instant hit amongst fans and critics alike. With a range of projects in the works, including the film 3 of a Kind, Thomas will be lighting up stage and screen for years to come.
