John Corbett

John Corbett is an award-nominated actor and country music singer, recognized for his impactful roles in both television and film. After garnering significant recognition for his role as Chris Stevens in the CBS comedy-drama series Northern Exposure from 1990 to 1995, John Corbett established a versatile career as an award-nominated actor and country music singer. His portrayal of Stevens earned him both a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 1992 and a Golden Globe Award nomination in 1993 for Best Supporting Actor. Corbett’s television career began with a guest role in The Wonder Years in 1988, before he demonstrated his dramatic range as Adam MacArthur in the science fiction series The Visitor from 1997 to 1998, which garnered him a Saturn Award nomination for Best Actor in 1998.

Demonstrating versatility across genres, Corbett appeared in the horror film The Messengers (2007) and co-starred in Showtime’s United States of Tara (2009-2011) and the film Ramona and Beezus (2010). His work led to his induction into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2011. He held a recurring role as Seth Holt in NBC’s Parenthood (2011-2015) and released his second country album, Leaving Nothin’ Behind, in 2013. In 2023, he also appeared in XO, Kitty and How I Met Your Father, alongside lending his distinctive voice to national commercials for brands such as Applebee’s and Walgreens.
