Reality star Johnny Eastoe rose to prominence as a contestant from Australian Survivor: Champions v Contenders in 2019. The intensely likeable gold miner from Western Australia became one of the show’s firm fan favourites, and also became an unlikely heartthrob thanks to his penchant for stripping off, his now famous mullet hairstyle and his down-to-earth demeanour. Viewers of the show were overjoyed when Eastoe made a triumphant return to the franchise in Australian Survivor: All Stars in 2020. After winning over viewers in spades on Survivor, this loveable, quintessential Aussie bloke is also taking social media by storm with tens of thousands of fans now following him on Instagram
Eastoe was raised by his grandmother and single mum in Footscray, Victoria in Australia, and relocated to Kalgoorlie to make his fortune working in the mining industry. Unlike many fellow contestants, Eastoe wasn’t obsessed with Survivor before his stint on the show, but his tough and determined attitude paired with his love of having a good time made him an ideal contestant for the popular series.
Although Eastoe didn’t win either series of Survivor, he has undoubtedly become one of the biggest breakout stars of the show. Since leaving the show he has used his fame to support several charitable causes, and he ditched booze for the month for Dry July 2020 to raise awareness for cancer charities.
