Grant Timothy Cardone was born on March 21, 1958, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, as one of five children. His early life was marked by the loss of his father in 1968 and his brother a decade later. He graduated from La Grange High School in 1976 and obtained a degree in accounting from McNeese State University. Between the ages of 16 and 25, Cardone faced challenges with drug and substance abuse, experiencing three overdoses before seeking treatment. This period of his life influenced his drive and perspective on overcoming adversity.
After completing his university education, Cardone began his career in a sales training company, working in various locations including Lake Charles, Houston, Texas, and La Jolla, California. He transitioned into car sales and eventually became the president and CEO of Freedom Motorsports Group Inc. Cardone further expanded his business ventures by establishing the Cardone Group, Cardone Enterprises, and Cardone Real Estate Holdings. These companies encompass his diverse interests in sales training, business development, and real estate investment. His business activities gained public attention through strategic media appearances and written works.
Cardone has achieved recognition as a New York Times bestselling author with his book, If You’re Not First, You’re Last, published in 2010.
