Johnny Knoxville

Johnny Knoxville, born Philip John Clapp, has built a career as a stunt performer, actor, producer, and writer, known for co-creating and starring in the ‘Jackass’ franchise. After contributing filmed stunts to Jeff Tremaine’s Big Brother magazine video series in the late 1990s, Johnny Knoxville went on to co-create and star in the groundbreaking MTV reality stunt show, ‘Jackass,’ which premiered in 2000 and aired through 2001. This success quickly transitioned to the big screen with ‘Jackass: The Movie’ in 2002, where Knoxville expanded his roles to include writing and producing. He further established his acting career with appearances in mainstream films such as ‘Coyote Ugly’ (2000), ‘Big Trouble’ (2002), and ‘Men in Black II’ (2002).

Knoxville continued to lead the ‘Jackass’ film franchise, starring in and producing ‘Jackass Number Two’ (2006) and ‘Jackass 3D’ (2010), alongside writing and starring in the Academy Award-nominated ‘Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa’ (2013). Beyond the franchise, his acting portfolio grew with lead roles in films like ‘Walking Tall’ (2004), ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ (2005), ‘The Ringer’ (2005), and ‘The Last Stand’ (2013). As a producer, he co-founded Dickhouse Productions with Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze, which produced television series such as MTV’s ‘Nitro Circus’ (2009) and ‘The Dudesons in America’ (2010). In 2014, Knoxville formed his production company, Hello Junior, securing a first-look deal with Paramount Pictures.

Most recently, Knoxville starred in ‘Reboot’ (2022) and Hulu’s ‘History of the World: Part II’ (2023). He hosted and executive produced ‘The Prank Panel’ in 2023 and contributed voice work to ‘Agent Elvis’ (2023) and ‘Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie’ (2024). In 2024, Knoxville launched his podcast, ‘Pretty Sure I Can Fly with Johnny Knoxville & Elna Baker,’ and starred in the feature films ‘Sweet Dreams’ and ‘The Luckiest Man in America.’
