Teen pop sensation Johnny Orlando is a Canadian singer songwriter who first shot to fame thanks to his viral YouTube videos and has won two MTV Europe Music Awards.
Orlando has reached global fame after creating a YouTube channel in 2011 when he was just 8 years old. He started posting covers of popular artists’ songs including Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift and Rihanna with many of them going viral and reaching over 100,000 views. He released his debut EP when he was 12, VXIIXI, with a follow up coming four years later when he also embarked on a North American tour to promote the new release. In 2018 he was also signed to Universal Music Canada, a deal which has seen the young star release several highly successful singles and collaborate with other artists such as Mackenzie Ziegler. Orlanda was nominated for the Juno Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2019, and in the same year won MTV Europe Music Award for Best Canadian Act. He was awarded the accolade again in 2020, the same year that he signed a consumer products and talent contract with the major TV network.
Most recently Orlando has released his third EP, It’s Never Really Over, in 2020, as well as singles Adelaide and I Don’t which he released with Dvbbs. He continues to be hugely popular across Canada and the world, reaching fans across the globe with his social media presence and relatability.
