Jon Lieber

Jonathan Ray Lieber, born on April 2, 1970, in Council Bluffs, IA, embarked on a distinguished career in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a pitcher. His journey began after attending Iowa Western Community College and the University of South Alabama, where he was honored as a distinguished alumnus in 2005. Early in his career, Lieber demonstrated a foundational talent that would see him drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 1992, subsequently making his MLB debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1994. Over 14 seasons, he established a reputation for durability and control, characterized by a career record of 131-124 with a 4.27 ERA and 1,553 strikeouts across 2,198 innings pitched.
