Jonathan Roxmouth is a multi-award-winning South African musical theatre actor and singer, known for his lead roles in international productions such as "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Evita."
Jonathan Roxmouth was announced as the first Musical Theatre endorsee for Yamaha's range of Grand Pianos, specifically the GC2 model. This partnership involves Roxmouth representing the brand through his performances and public appearances.

Jonathan Roxmouth was born on February 25, 1987, in Randburg, South Africa. He developed an interest in performing arts early in his life, participating in annual theatre productions at Northcliff High School and musicals at the Natal Playhouse. During his formative years, Roxmouth focused on music and performance, earning diplomas in creative verse, light music/jazz, and voice at the Randburg Eisteddfod.
Roxmouth began his professional acting career in 2006, taking on the role of Vince Fontaine/Teen Angel in the Barnyard Theatre Group’s production of “Grease.” This marked the beginning of a career that would see him perform in numerous stage and musical productions. His early work also included playing Buddy in “The Buddy Holly Story” in 2007 and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in “Rock Me, Amadeus” between 2006 and 2008 for the Barnyard Theatre. He gained significant recognition for his role as Gaston in “Beauty and the Beast” (2008-2009), which earned him a Naledi Award for Best Performance in a Musical and a Fleur Du Cap for Best Performance in a Musical. He later received a Naledi Award nomination for Best Performance in a Musical for his portrayal of Danny Zuko in “Grease” in 2010.
A significant turning point in Roxmouth’s career was his casting as The Phantom in “The Phantom of the Opera.” He first played this role in South Africa from 2011 to 2012, earning multiple awards, including a Fleur du Cap Award for Best Performance in a Musical and a Naledi Award for Best Performance in a Musical (Male). He reprised the role for a Lunchbox Theatrical Productions run in Manila, Philippines, where he received a Broadway World Philippines Award for Best Actor (musical). His international career continued with the role of Che in the “Evita” International Tour from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, he played Billy Flynn in the “Chicago” World Tour, a role he is set to reprise in Cape Town in 2025. Roxmouth has also ventured into concert performances, with shows like “MY FAVOURITE BROADWAY,” featuring orchestral accompaniment.
