Josh Reddick

Josh Reddick made his Major League Baseball debut with the Boston Red Sox on July 31, 2009, after being drafted by the team in the 17th round of the 2006 MLB draft. His early career with the Red Sox showcased significant potential in both batting and fielding as he transitioned between minor and major league assignments. This initial period established his foundation as a robust outfielder capable of impactful contributions at the highest level of professional baseball. Reddick’s career saw significant progression following his trade to the Oakland Athletics in 2011.

During that championship season, he achieved a career-high batting average of .314 and tied for the MLB lead in sacrifice flies. His outstanding performance earned him the MLBPAA Astros Heart and Hustle Award in 2017. Beyond his on-field achievements, Reddick has been actively involved in community initiatives, notably donating $1 million to the construction of ‘Josh Reddick Stadium’ in Springfield, GA, designed with accessible features for children with special needs. He also served on the Taylor Hooton Foundation advisory board, advocating against performance-enhancing drug use among youth.

Following his successful tenure with the Astros, Reddick continued his professional career with stints with the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets in 2021. He later signed with Acereros de Monclova in 2022, and subsequently with the Perth Heat in late 2022. Reddick retired from professional baseball in 2023, concluding a distinguished career that spanned multiple MLB teams, highlighted by a World Series Championship and an American League Gold Glove Award.
