Justin Hayward-Young

Justin Hayward-Young is a British singer, songwriter, and musician, widely recognized as the frontman of the indie rock band The Vaccines. After joining the acclaimed British indie rock band The Vaccines in 2010 as lead vocalist and guitarist, Justin Hayward-Young quickly established himself as a formidable force in songwriting and performance. Under his creative direction, The Vaccines have released five critically acclaimed albums since their 2011 debut, with each consistently securing a position within the UK Top Five. Hayward-Young’s early songwriting talent was notably featured in the 2011 film Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, for which he penned the song ‘Norgaard.’ The band has achieved widespread international recognition, undertaking extensive global tours and serving as support for legendary acts including Muse and The Rolling Stones.

Venturing into independent songwriting, Hayward-Young’s skills gained international acclaim as he served as arranger, lyricist, and writer for the song ‘The Tower,’ featured in the 2019 animated series Carole & Tuesday. Further diversifying his artistic output, he co-founded the side project Halloweens in late 2019 alongside The Vaccines bandmate Timothy Lanham, allowing for exploration of new sonic landscapes and collaborative dynamics. By 2022, Hayward-Young had significantly broadened his production portfolio, co-producing five tracks for another artist, demonstrating his expanding influence and capabilities behind the mixing desk. As the consistent frontman of The Vaccines for over a decade, his ongoing leadership continues to drive the band’s creative direction, maintaining their position as a prominent act in the global indie rock scene and ensuring his continued impact across music and media.
