About

Joseph McElderry established his artistic footprint as an English singer and songwriter, reshaping his musical identity through television competition success. Rising to prominence by winning the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009, he immediately made a major commercial impact when his debut single, “The Climb,” claimed the number one position on both the UK Singles Chart and the Irish Singles Charts.

Building upon his early momentum, McElderry expanded his performance range across different television and stage platforms. He won the second series of Popstar to Operastar in 2011 and subsequently secured victory in the first series of The Jump in 2014. Transitioning into musical theatre in 2015, he stepped into the lead role of Joseph in the touring production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Continuing his active presence in live music performance, McElderry later launched his Freedom Tour in 2022, presenting a dedicated musical tribute to George Michael. Throughout his entertainment career, he has maintained a steady presence across television, recording projects, and stage productions.
