Kaisa Keranen is a widely recognised personal trainer, fitness educator and social media fitness influencer who is passionate about getting people moving. She was born in Seattle, Washington and from an early age she was enthusiastic about sports and participated in swimming, gymnastics soccer, ballet and sprinting. When she was 18, Keranen chose to study at the University of Washington. She was a member of the university Track and Field Team and did the heptathlon.
Keranen went on to continue her studies following her degree with a Masters in Exercise Science, Sports Performance and Injury Prevention. She was interested in learning about the body and helping others so continued to pursue qualification as a fitness instructor. She started to run boot camps and completed an internship at Zum Fitness.
Keranen owns her own fitness business KaisaFit she has created a website and has a large following on social media giving help to people in achieving their fitness goals.
Her videos are often innovative with moves that can be done at home with no equipment that can make your workout varied. She says that health is a ‘feeling not a look’. She has been featured in prestigious magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Oxygen. Michelle Obama invited Keranen to be involved in her 2015 ‘Lets Move’ digital campaign. In the fitness world she is a celebrity in her own right.
