Kara Lindsay

Kara Lindsay is an accomplished actress and singer, known for her leading roles in prominent Broadway productions such as “Newsies” and “Wicked.” After originating the acclaimed role of Katherine Plumber in Disney’s Newsies at the Paper Mill Playhouse in 2011, Kara Lindsay transferred with the production to Broadway in 2012, performing the role until February 2014. Her breakout performance earned her a 2012 Astaire Award nomination for Outstanding Female Dancer in a Broadway Show. Prior to her Broadway debut, Lindsay cultivated her craft, including an appearance as Laura in a musical adaptation of Little House on the Prairie at the Paper Mill Playhouse in 2009, following her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting and musical theatre. Following her celebrated run in Newsies, Lindsay took on another iconic role, portraying Glinda in the second national tour of Wicked from April to November 2014.

Her versatility extends to television, with appearances in an episode of Submissions Only in 2012 and Murphy Brown in 2018, showcasing her range beyond the stage. Looking ahead to 2025, Lindsay is scheduled to star as Michele Weinberger in the highly anticipated production of Romy & Michele: The Musical at Stage 42. Her consistent record of leading roles in major theatrical productions and her ability to captivate audiences firmly establish her as a prominent and sought-after talent in the entertainment industry.
