Lindsay Mendez

Lindsay Mendez was born on March 1, 1983, in Norwalk, California. Her career in musical theatre began with her Broadway debut in 2007 as Jan in the second Broadway revival of “Grease.” She continued to develop her stage presence and vocal abilities, appearing in various regional and off-Broadway productions. Her early work demonstrated a consistent engagement in professional theatrical productions, often in significant roles. She also co-founded Actor Therapy, a training program for young actors in New York City, demonstrating her commitment to arts education.

Throughout the 2010s, Mendez gained recognition for her work in several notable productions. In 2012, she starred as Rose Fenny in the off-Broadway musical “Dogfight,” a role for which she received nominations for the Drama League Award, Drama Desk Award, and Outer Critics Circle Award in 2013. From 2013 to 2014, she took on the role of Elphaba in the Broadway production of “Wicked,” a demanding and prominent part within the musical community. This period solidified her position as a skilled and versatile performer on the Broadway stage.

Her career reached a significant milestone in 2018 when she received the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Carrie Pipperidge in the Broadway revival of “Carousel.” This award acknowledged her contributions to American musical theatre. Concurrently, Mendez expanded her acting work into television, co-starring as court stenographer Sara Castillo in the CBS legal drama series “All Rise” from 2019 to 2023.
