She pursued higher education at Pennsylvania State University, earning Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Political Science. During her time at university, she participated in a Semester at Sea program, which broadened her global perspective through visits to countries like Cuba, South Africa, and Japan. This international exposure further solidified her commitment to legal advocacy and human rights.
Following her undergraduate studies, Patel enrolled at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, where she distinguished herself by being admitted into the Advanced Trial Advocacy program. Her academic engagement extended to membership in the Temple Political & Civil Rights Law Review and the South Asian Law Student Association. She also held a position on the executive board of the Student Bar Association. After graduating and becoming a lawyer, Patel initially worked at a Philadelphia insurance defense firm, gaining specialized industry knowledge. Her career path later included legal work in New York City and Chicago before she transitioned to plaintiff’s personal injury law, a field she has maintained since.
In 2019, Patel participated in CBS’s reality television series “Survivor: Island of the Idols” (Season 39), an experience that highlighted her tenacity and resilience. Post-“Survivor” and her time on “Sequester,” she has cultivated a public persona, sharing her personal and professional developments across social media, including Instagram and Twitter. Currently residing in Houston, Texas, where she works as an attorney for Jim Adler & Associates, Patel continues to be an active advocate for individuals injured due to negligence.
