Kevin James

Kevin James, a comedian and actor, is recognized for his portrayals of relatable working-class characters in television and film, notably Doug Heffernan in “The King of Queens” and the titular role in “Paul Blart: Mall Cop.” After a breakthrough appearance at the 1996 ‘Just for Laughs’ Montreal Comedy Festival, Kevin James quickly secured a recurring role on the popular sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. Building on his established presence as a stand-up comedian for approximately 11 years since 1989, including appearances on Star Search and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, James went on to star in his own sitcom, The King of Queens, as Doug Heffernan from 1998 to 2007. This acclaimed role not only cemented his image as an affable everyman but also earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006. Transitioning to leading film roles, James starred in the hit romantic comedy Hitch in 2005.

He also lent his distinctive voice to animated projects, including Monster House (2006), Barnyard (2006), and the successful Hotel Transylvania franchise, where he voiced Frankenstein across four installments from 2012 to 2018. His return to television came with the sitcom Kevin Can Wait, which ran from 2016 to 2018, earning him a People’s Choice Award nomination in 2017.
