Karyn Khoury

Karyn Khoury, a pivotal figure in the global fragrance industry, was appointed Senior Vice President of Corporate Fragrance Development Worldwide at The Estée Lauder Companies in 1998, a role she held until her retirement on November 1, 2018. Her career trajectory at The Estée Lauder Companies began as manager for Aramis men’s brands, following five years at Norda, which later became part of Givaudan. This early tenure at Estée Lauder provided direct engagement with Mrs. Estée Lauder herself, and subsequently with Evelyn and Leonard Lauder, contributing to new fragrance creations and product developments that solidified her foundational understanding of fragrance development within a major corporate structure.

As SVP, Khoury played a central role in conceptualizing olfactory visions and collaborating deeply with perfumers, moving beyond mere project assignment to ensure profound brand integration throughout the development process. Throughout her distinguished career, Khoury contributed to the creation of numerous successful and iconic fragrances for various brands under The Estée Lauder Companies umbrella. Her work includes the development of Estée Lauder Beautiful, Knowing, and Pleasures, with the latter earning a prestigious FiFi Award in 1996. She further oversaw the development of acclaimed ranges such as Estée Lauder Sensuous, Wood Mystique, and Amber Mystique, each reflecting her unique approach to fragrance creation.
