Kasey Perry-Glass is an American dressage rider who has won medals at the Olympic Games and the World Championships. Her success in the former came at the 2016 Games in Rio when she was part of the team that won Team Dressage bronze. Her success in the latter came when she helped the American team to win silver at the 2018 championships in Tryon, North Carolina. Today, she is based in Wellington, Florida, but spends her summers in Orangevale, California, and regularly travels to host clinics. Animal welfare is one of her greatest passions.
Perry-Glass is a California girl, born in Sacramento in October 1987. She began riding ponies when she was still a toddler, and by the time she started high school, she was already eventing. As a teenager, she fell in love with dressage and committed herself to it, competing in numerous regional events. She came to national prominence in 2013 when she began competing in CDI tours with her horse, Goerklintgaard’s Dublet. The pair found themselves in the running for the 2015 Pan American Games, but although they didn’t quite make the team, they secured full training from the US Equestrian Foundation coach, Debbie McDonald.
The hard work put in with McDonald paid off, and within a year, they had qualified for the Olympics, at which they helped Team USA to take team bronze. Further success came at the 2018 World Championships as well as high placings at many other major tournaments.
