Sam Griffiths

Sam Griffiths is an Australian Olympic equestrian who has achieved international recognition in eventing, transitioning from a competitor to a trainer and ambassador for the sport. After establishing his career as an International Event Rider in the UK, Sam Griffiths embarked on a distinguished journey marked by Olympic appearances and major victories. Griffiths initially moved to the UK in 1995, training for three years as a backup rider for double Olympic gold medalist Matt Ryan before he and his wife, Lucy, established their own successful team of horses. His early career saw him shortlisted for the Athens and Beijing Olympic Games, demonstrating consistent top-tier performance.

His partnership with Paulank Brockagh, affectionately known as Brocks, became legendary, with her instrumental role in both the 2014 Badminton victory and the 2016 Olympic team bronze. Following these successes, Griffiths lent his expertise and prominence to the equestrian world, serving as an Ambassador for the Mitsubishi Motors Adelaide International Horse Trials in 2017. Currently based in the UK, Sam Griffiths remains a highly respected figure in eventing, continuing to compete at the highest levels while also dedicating his time to training other riders.
