Kate Linder has established herself as one of television’s most enduring figures, notably for her more than four-decade portrayal of Esther Valentine on CBS’s ‘The Young and the Restless.’ Cast in April 1982 for what was initially a one-day role, Linder developed Esther Valentine into a beloved character, solidifying her status as one of the longest-serving actors on American soap operas. Her continued work has contributed to ‘The Young and the Restless’ maintaining its consistent ranking as the number one rated soap opera. In recognition of her significant contributions to the entertainment industry, Linder was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008. Beyond her acting career, Linder has maintained a unique parallel profession, continuing her role as a flight attendant for Transamerica Airlines and later for United Airlines.
