Katharina Althaus

Katharina Schmid, born Katharina Althaus on May 23, 1996, in Oberstdorf, Germany, is a highly successful ski jumper. She began her World Cup career during the 2011/12 season and has consistently performed at an elite level. Schmid has participated in three Olympic Games, earning two silver medals. Her career is marked by multiple World Championship titles and numerous World Cup wins, establishing her as a prominent figure in the sport of ski jumping. In May 2023, she married Patrick Schmid, adopting his surname.

Over the course of her career, Schmid has accumulated seven World Championship titles, including one individual title and six team titles, solidifying her status as one of the most successful athletes in women’s ski jumping.
