Kellyanne Elizabeth Conway, born on January 20, 1967, in Camden, New Jersey, was raised in Atco, New Jersey, by her mother, grandmother, and two aunts. She graduated as valedictorian from St. Joseph High School in 1985. She developed a strong work ethic from working eight summers on a blueberry farm, where she also won the New Jersey Blueberry Princess pageant at age 16 and the World Champion Blueberry Packing competition at age 20. She attended Trinity College, Washington, D.C., where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. In 1992, she earned a Juris Doctor with honors from the George Washington University Law School.
After law school, Conway served as a judicial clerk for Judge Richard A. Levie of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. She began her career in political polling as a research assistant for the Wirthlin Group during law school. In 1995, she founded her own firm, The Polling Company, which focused on consumer trends, particularly among women. Her firm’s clientele included brands like Vaseline, American Express, and Hasbro. She also provided political consulting services to various Republican figures, such as U.S. Representative Jack Kemp, Senator Fred Thompson, Vice President Dan Quayle, Speaker Newt Gingrich, and U.S. Representative Mike Pence.
Conway’s career progressed into media commentary, appearing on major news networks like ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and Fox News. In 2016, she initially chaired a pro-Ted Cruz super PAC before joining Donald Trump’s presidential campaign as a senior advisor in July 2016. She was appointed campaign manager in August 2016, becoming the first woman to successfully run a U.S. presidential campaign. Following Trump’s election, she served as Senior Counselor to the President from 2017 to 2020. After leaving the administration, Conway became a Fox News contributor in 2022 and joined the board of the America First Policy Institute. She also began hosting a weekly program on Fox Nation in July 2024.
