Ken Mandat is a musician and guitarist who plays for Damien Thorne and as part of the Superfly Symphony.
An icon of Chicago’s buzzing music scene, Ken Mandat is known for his unrivalled guitar skills and for his diversity as a performer. He is part of the lineup of Damien Thorne, a heavy metal band who have played together since the mid 1980’s. Their 1985 album The Sign of the Jackal shot them to fame, with later releases including Haunted Mind and End of the Game. In 2015 they released their most recent record, Soul Stealer, with Mandat being the only original member of the band to appear on the release. This seasoned performer and guitarist is by no means limited to one genre though, and is also a part of 1970‘s style disco group Superfly Symphony. A testament to Mandat’s skill as an instrumentalist, the group write and perform their own original tracks in the style of the disco classics from the height of the funk and soul era. Their releases include Disco Life Philosophy and most recently On the Dance Floor.
Mandat continues to write and perform music, and also works as a guitar teacher at Hix Brothers Music School. He also produces music, and has a popular Cameo page where he posts personalised shout outs. With live shows, recording sessions and new releases in the pipeline, Mandat is a highly sought after musician.
