Ken Mandat

Ken Mandat has established himself as a prominent figure in the music industry, particularly noted for his guitar skills and contributions to the heavy metal genre. He is the founding guitarist of the American heavy metal band Damien Thorne, which was formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1983. Mandat was instrumental in the band’s early development, including the recording of their 1984 demo album, *Sign of the Jackal*, and the subsequent LP release of the same name in 1986 through RoadRunner Records and Jackal Productions. His commitment to Damien Thorne has been consistent, making him the only original member to appear on their 2015 release, *Soul Stealer*. Throughout his career with Damien Thorne, he has also been involved in the releases of *Wrath of Darkness* (2001, reissued 2004), *Haunted Mind* (2005), and *End of the Game* (2011).

Beyond his work with Damien Thorne, Mandat’s musical versatility extends to various genres. He is also a part of Superfly Symphony, a 1970s-style disco group where he contributes guitar work, performing original tracks reminiscent of the funk and soul era. This demonstrates his skill as an instrumentalist, capable of adapting to different musical styles. His dedication to music also includes teaching and production work; he serves as a guitar teacher at Hix Brothers Music School and produces music. Mandat is recognized as a classically trained guitarist, having studied at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, California, for nine years.
