Keri Russell

Keri Russell was born on March 23, 1976, in Fountain Valley, California. Her early career began as a cast member on “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” from 1991 to 1994, where her dance background contributed to her selection. Following this, she appeared in various television and film projects, including a minor role in “Boy Meets World” in 1993 and “Married… with Children” in 1995. Her early film credits included “Honey, I Blew Up the Kid” (1992) and “Mad About Mambo” (2000).

Russell gained significant recognition starring as the title character in the hit WB Network series “Felicity” from 1998 to 2002. This role earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series in 1999. After “Felicity,” she transitioned to diverse roles. In 2004, she made her off-Broadway stage debut in Neil LaBute’s play “Fat Pig.” Her film career continued with titles like “Mission: Impossible III” (2006), “Waitress” (2007), which received critical praise, and “August Rush” (2007). She also voiced Wonder Woman in a 2009 direct-to-video animated feature. From 2010 to 2011, she starred in the Fox series “Running Wilde.”

A significant turning point in her career was her lead role as Elizabeth Jennings in the critically acclaimed FX drama series “The Americans,” which aired from 2013 to 2018. This role earned her three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, two Golden Globe Award nominations, and a Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Drama in 2018. During this period, she also appeared in films such as “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (2014) and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” (2019), reuniting with director J.J. Abrams. In 2019, she made her Broadway debut in the revival of Lanford Wilson’s “Burn This.” More recently, Russell starred in “Cocaine Bear” (2023) and took on the titular role in the Netflix series “The Diplomat” (2023–present), for which she received additional Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
