Originally from Houston, Kevin Iso began his comedy career performing stand-up across Texas. He later moved to New York, where he continued to develop his craft, blending diverse cultural insights into his performances. His early career included appearances at international events such as the Montreux Comedy Festival in Switzerland, the Funny or Die Oddball Festival, and the Bridgetown Comedy Festival. In 2015, Iso was recognized by Comedy Central as one of their “Comics To Watch,” a designation that led to his stand-up being featured on Axs TV’s Gotham Comedy Live and Comedy Central’s Adam Devine’s House Party. He also appeared in YouTube Red’s “Alexander IRL.”
Iso’s career significantly advanced with the co-creation of the web series “Flatbush Misdemeanors.” This project, which he also co-wrote and starred in, depicted observations of city life in Brooklyn. The series gained critical attention and was later adapted into a full television series for Showtime, where Iso served as co-creator, executive producer, and star from 2021 to 2022. He also contributed as a writer to “That Damn Michael Che” in 2021 and appeared as an actor in television series such as “Atlanta” (2022) and “High Fidelity” (2020), where he had a recurring role opposite Zoë Kravitz.
His work on “Flatbush Misdemeanors” and his stand-up performances have established him as a distinctive voice in comedy. He performs at notable venues including Stand Up NY, Caroline’s on Broadway, and The Stand in NYC, as well as colleges nationwide. His contributions extend to production, notably as an executive producer for “Flatbush Misdemeanors” and an associate producer for “Andy Huggins: Early Bird Special” (2023). Iso’s consistent work as a writer, actor, and producer highlights his multifaceted presence in entertainment.
