Jeff Chang

Jeff Chang released his acclaimed debut album ‘Lie’ in 1989, quickly establishing himself as a significant voice in Mandarin pop music. Following military service, Chang returned in 1992 with the best-selling album ‘Knowing,’ solidifying his reputation. He further defined his signature sound with the 1993 album ‘Worrying,’ which featured the enduring classic ‘Love Like Tide’ and pioneered his distinct ‘Zhe-style love songs.’ His rapid ascent culminated in receiving the prestigious Golden Melody Award for Best Male Mandarin Singer in 1996, cementing his title as the ‘Prince of Love Ballads’ across Taiwan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and mainland China. In 1994, Chang released the album ‘Waiting,’ which included another chart-topping hit, ‘Don’t Be Afraid that I’ll Be Sad.’ His musical versatility extended to popular duets, notably ‘A Little Touched’ with Carina Lau, which remains a KTV favorite.

Throughout his prolific career, Chang has continued to deliver consistent musical output, including the Mandarin album ‘Generosity’ (1995) and a wide range of Cantonese and English releases. Most recently, Chang released his acclaimed Mandarin album ‘See the Light’ in 2021, reaffirming his enduring presence in the music industry. His significant contributions to culture were recognized in 2024 when he was honored with the AIM Culture Friendship Ambassadorship. As an accomplished singer, actor, record producer, and respected art collector, Chang continues to be a pivotal figure in Asian entertainment.
