Khairul Anuar Mohamad

Khairul Anuar Mohamad is a Malaysian archer who has achieved significant milestones in his career, representing his country in multiple Olympic Games and World Championships. After becoming the first Malaysian archer to secure a medal in an individual World Cup event, Khairul Anuar Mohamad established himself as a prominent figure in international archery. Making his international debut in 2011, he swiftly gained recognition, notably at the 2011 FITA Archery World Cup Stage 4 in Shanghai, China. There, he earned a silver medal after reaching the finals of the men’s individual recurve, marking a historic achievement for Malaysian archery and solidifying his emerging talent on the world stage.

In the same pivotal year, Khairul continued his impressive run at the 2011 Asian Archery Championships in Tehran, Iran. He was instrumental in Malaysia securing two gold medals, personally winning the men’s individual event by defeating Japan’s Hideki Kikuchi, and also contributing to the Malaysian team’s victory against China in the men’s team event. His consistent high-level performance propelled him to the global stage, earning him a spot at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he advanced to the quarter-final stage in the individual event. Khairul’s commitment to elite competition continued with subsequent appearances at two more Olympic Games.

Following his groundbreaking success at the 2019 World Archery Championships, Khairul Anuar Mohamad’s talent was further acknowledged when he was shortlisted for World Archery’s prestigious Male Athlete of the Year award for recurve archers in the same year.
