Kim Je-deok is an Olympic gold medalist archer from South Korea, known for his multiple team and mixed team victories. After securing gold medals in both team and mixed team events at the 2019 World Archery Youth Championships in Madrid, Kim Je-deok established himself as a dominant force in international archery. His talent had garnered early recognition, leading to an appearance on the SBS variety show ‘Finding Genius’ in 2016, where he earned the nickname ‘Archery Genius’. He began his archery career in 2013 and at the 2019 Youth Championships, he also secured a bronze medal in the individual category, setting the stage for his future success.
His dominance extended to the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and the 2023 Berlin World Archery Championships, where he again secured gold medals in the Team events. Further cementing his status, Kim Je-deok claimed another gold medal in the Team event at the 2023 Bangkok Asian Archery Championships. In 2022, his accomplishments were recognized with the Excellence Award at the 68th Korean Sport and Olympic Committee Awards. Kim continued his unparalleled success at the 2024 Summer Olympics, winning another gold medal in the men’s team event with Kim Woo-jin and Lee Woo-seok.
His signature ‘Fighting!’ cheer has become widely recognized, and a unique ‘Robin Hood’ arrow, which he shot with An San at the 2020 Olympics, was donated to the International Olympic Committee museum, symbolizing his lasting impact on the sport.
