Korea Kim Je-deok is an Olympic gold medalist archer from South Korea, known for his multiple team and mixed team victories.
Hyundai and Korea's archery legacy shines at the 2024 Paris Olympics, showcasing history, innovation, and global dominance in the nation's Archery. Kim Je-deok received a car from Hyundai Motor Group, which supports the Archery Association, and chose the EV6 among the options available.

Kim Je-deok was born on April 12, 2004, in Seoul, South Korea. He began his archery career in 2013 at the age of nine, inspired by a friend. His talent was recognized early, leading to an appearance on the SBS variety show ‘Finding Genius’ in 2016, where he earned the nickname ‘Archery Genius’. Throughout his youth career, he participated in the 2019 World Archery Youth Championships in Madrid, securing gold medals in the team and mixed team events, and a bronze medal in the individual category. These early achievements set the stage for his future in international archery.
His career faced a temporary setback in late 2019 when he withdrew from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics national selection due to shoulder impingement syndrome. However, the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic allowed him time to recover. He successfully re-entered the national team selection in 2021, placing 5th in the Gwangju International Archery Center competition and then 3rd in the Tokyo Olympic national team selection match, thus qualifying for the Olympics. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, Kim demonstrated his skill by scoring 688 points in the men’s ranking round, surpassing world record holder Brady Ellison.
Kim Je-deok achieved significant milestones at the 2020 Summer Olympics, becoming a three-time Olympic gold medalist. He won gold in the mixed team event with An San and another gold in the men’s team event alongside Oh Jin-hyek and Kim Woo-jin. At 17 years and 3 months, he became the youngest medalist in Korean men’s archery history. He continued his success at the 2024 Summer Olympics, winning another gold medal in the men’s team event with Kim Woo-jin and Lee Woo-seok. His signature ‘Fighting!’ cheer became widely recognized, and his ‘Robin Hood’ arrow with An San from the 2020 Olympics was donated to the International Olympic Committee museum.
