Kimmy Repond was born on October 18, 2006, in Basel, Switzerland. She began skating at the age of four, following in the footsteps of her older sisters. Her passion for the sport, encompassing the music, emotion, and challenge of landing new jumps, has driven her career objectives. Repond balances her demanding athletic schedule with other interests, including playing the piano, caring for animals, and cooking. She also has aspirations to pursue a career in medicine after her competitive skating career concludes.
Repond’s competitive journey began with junior-level success, becoming a two-time Swiss junior national champion in 2020 and 2022. She made her international junior debut in 2021 and notably finished seventh at both the 2022 and 2023 World Junior Championships, becoming the highest-finishing European junior woman in 2022. Her international senior debut occurred in 2022 at the ISU Challenger Series, where she quickly demonstrated her competitive ability by winning a silver medal at the 2022 CS Budapest Trophy and a bronze medal at the 2022 CS Ice Challenge, despite sustaining a foot injury prior to the latter event.
A pivotal moment in Repond’s career came in 2023 when she earned a bronze medal at the European Championships. This achievement made her the first Swiss skater to win a medal at the European Championships since 2011. She continued to achieve success, including winning her first Swiss national senior title in 2024 and repeating as champion in 2025. Repond has consistently represented Switzerland on the world stage, participating in the World Championships where she finished fifth in 2024 and twelfth in 2025.
