Katie Ormerod
Katie Ormerod is a British snowboarder known for her remarkable achievements in freestyle snowboarding. Born on August 25, 1997, in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, she began snowboarding at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks. Ormerod made history in 2017 by becoming the first female snowboarder to land a double cork 1080. Despite facing setbacks due to injuries, including missing the 2018 Winter Olympics, she made a strong comeback, winning the overall World Cup snowboard title in the 2019/2020 season. Ormerod’s resilience and talent have made her a prominent figure in the world of snowboarding.
Bradly Sinden
Taekwondo athlete Bradly Sinden is renowned for his historic victory at the 2019 World Championships, where he became the first male World Champion from Great Britain. Inspired by his sister to take up the sport, Sinden joined the GB Development Program and competed as a junior. He later graduated and entered Manchester’s World Class Performance Programme. Nicknamed “Mr. Consistent,” Sinden gained recognition on the junior circuit, winning the 2015 Junior European Championships. His first senior major medal, a bronze, came at the 2017 World Championships in Muju, Korea. He continued his success by winning silver at the World Taekwondo Grand Prix in London, competing against Olympic Champion Ahmad Abughaush of Jordan. Most recently, Sinden secured a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Tina Hermann
Tina Hermann, born on March 5, 1992, in Cologne, Germany, is a distinguished skeleton racer. She began her international career in 2009 and has since become a dominant force in the sport. Hermann has captured multiple overall World Cup titles and claimed gold at the World Championships in 2016, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Known for her technical skill and unwavering consistency, she has set herself apart as a top competitor. Hermann’s impressive achievements and dedication to skeleton racing have solidified her reputation as one of the sport’s elite athletes.
Nancy Kerrigan
Nancy Kerrigan is a renowned American figure skater. She became well-known in the early ’90s, winning a bronze medal at the 1992 Winter Olympics and a silver medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics. Her career took a dramatic turn in 1994 when she was attacked by associates of rival skater Tonya Harding, gaining widespread sympathy and media attention. After retiring from competitive skating, Kerrigan performed in ice shows, appeared on TV, and worked with various charities, especially those focused on vision care.
