Rap prodigy Issa Thompson is continuing to makes waves in the music industry. Thompson showed off his extraordinary musical talent very early in childhood, and was discovered by the production company Crown World Entertainment. They then presented him to Wayne Williams, who was at the time Jive Records’ senior vice president of A&R. Williams was familiar with him from a video. He instructed Thompson to perform in front of every A&R and vice president at Jive. Thompson signed a contract with the label a few weeks later. He joined RCA Records at the age of 15.
In 2011, Thompson and DJ Holiday collaborated to release “Back to the Future,” a mixtape that aimed to close the gap between the current crop of rappers and their illustrious forebears. He released “King Issa” the next year, which was also a joint project with DJ Holiday. His third and fourth mixtapes, “This Summer” and “Best Kept Secrets,” were both released in 2015. For Thompson, 2016 was a very hectic year. He published the second instalment of “Sample Sundays” (the first instalment was released sometime in the early 2010s), his mixtape “This Winter,” and his debut EP, “Blue Moon”.
Thompson has achieved notable success as a businessman in addition to having a successful singing career. He founded Wolfpack Entertainment, a production firm and musical label, as well as Fresh Young Boys, a clothing retailer.
