Professional Polish slalom canoeist Klaudia Zwolińska is known for the best performance in history at the World Cup in Prague when she was just 17.
A talented athlete, Zwolińska has enjoyed canoeing from a young age. As a former junior world and European slalom canoe champion, Zwolińska quickly became a renowned competitor, having participated on an international level since 2013. After enjoying her first bronze and gold medal wins as part of the K1 class at the U23 World Cup Championship during 2013 in Kracow, Poland, Zwolińska’s performance has gone from strength to strength. In 2015 she made her senior debut at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia and later went on to achieve the best women’s starts in the history of the sport, finishing in fifth position at the 2016 World Cup in Prague. An impressive achievement for an athlete of only 17. Of her other medal wins, Zwolińska achieved a bronze medal during the 2017 U23 World Cup Championship in Bratislava, Slovakia, followed by two silver medal wins during the 2019 U23 European Championships in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia and the U23 World Championships in Kracow, Poland.
Despite her immense success as a slalom canoeist, Zwolińska has battled with ill-health throughout her career. However, as a passionate athlete, this is not something that has stopped Zwolińska from competing in the sport. Currently training with an all-male team under coach Grzegorz Polaczyk, she hopes to become an Olympic medal winner in the K1 class and begin competing in the C1 class.
