Superb athlete Kyle “Schwarbs” Schwarber is a professional baseball outfielder for the Washington Nationals in the MLB. He was a 2016 World Series Champion for Chicago Cubs. Away from sport, he launched Neighborhood Heroes in 2017, a campaign designed to recognise first responders by honouring their heroism, courage and devotion to duty.
Born and raised in Ohio, Schwarber always had a love for sport, especially baseball, as his Uncle Thomas played college baseball at Ohio State, and played professionally in the Detroit Tigers minor league system. Schwarber himself hit an amazing .408 with 18 home runs and 103 runs batted in at his High School over four years. His game continued to improve when he attended Indiana University to study Recreational Sports Management, being named a freshman All-American. He was also named a first-team All-American, and played for the United States collegiate national team. In his 2012 college offseason, he played for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League, winning the league championship with them and being named the playoff’s most valuable player. He was later interned in the CCBL Hall of Fame class of 2019. His professional career took off when he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2014, being profiled as a game-changing power-hitter. After a year in the minor leagues, he made his major league debut in 2015, and the following year helped the Cubs to win their first World Series Championship in 108 years. He turned out for the Cubs for a further five years after that, and in January 2021 he signed with the Washington Nationals.
Schwarber regularly connects with his legions of followers and fans through Instagram, and Twitter, posting pictures and videos of his life around the field of dreams. He is available for that personalised shout-out via the Cameo platform, all proceeds of which go to his Neighborhood Heroes charity.
