Yasmeen Scarab

Yasmeen Scarab was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt. Her early exposure to the arts, facilitated by her father’s connections in the film industry during the 1960s and 1970s, cultivated her passion for entertainment from a young age. This upbringing immersed her in cinema, music, and theatre. She pursued her acting education with various coaches, including Nicholas Guilak, Hollace Starr, Carolina Barcos, and Sal Landi. Scarab began her career with background roles in major productions such as the film ‘Furious 7’ (2015) and the television series ‘Bones’. She then expanded her creative involvement by writing, directing, and starring in short films like ‘Tea Time’ (2018) and ‘I Don’t Know Yet’.

In 2019, Scarab entered the commercial industry, quickly securing three commercial bookings within her first two months. A notable commercial project was for Chateau Ste. Michelle, available on YouTube. Despite the challenges presented by the global pandemic in 2020, Scarab achieved a significant milestone by securing an Arabic-speaking role in a Netflix television series, ‘Newton’s Cradle’. This project was filmed in both Los Angeles and her home country of Egypt, where she appeared in two episodes as Sara (2020), which subsequently led to more acting opportunities in Egypt. Her career has since included starring as Yennifer in the TV mini-series ‘Netflix Dreams’ (2021) and Patricia in the comedy-drama film ‘Summer with the Guys’ (2023), where she also served as a second assistant director.
